Here at Tiki Tiki Reptiles LLC we’d like to share with you our story of how it all began…

My husband and I started Tiki Tiki Reptiles in 2007. It all started because Chad grew up loving animals and had many different reptiles as pets. When I met him in 2005 he had a pair of veiled chameleons, Xena and Thor which he had been breeding for several years. I had never even held a chameleon up until that point. I thought they were amazing creatures and really enjoyed watching them when I was over. At this point in time Chad was working two jobs and I was away at college in Southern California and came home to see him on breaks. We dated for two years until I graduated from college with a business degree in marketing and accounting. In 2007 we went to our first big reptile show in Southern California. It was there that our love for reptiles deepened and really took off. Chad picked out a few more chameleons, another beautiful veiled and our personal favorite, a pair of Nosy Be panthers. I fell in love with bearded dragons and got a little red female. On our drive home from San Diego we talked about the possibility of opening our own business. We decided to learn what we could and go from there.

Next thing we knew we were starting up Tiki Tiki Reptiles LLC. With Chad’s reptile experience, my business degree and both of our willingness to learn everything we could and work hard at it, we dove right in. We continued to add superb breeders to our colony until we were swimming in chameleons and bearded dragons. Chad proposed to me in October 2007. We bought our first house that same month and 6 months later we got married in April 2008. It was a busy time for us…becoming a family, buying a house and starting our own business. We continued to grow and build a name for ourselves in the reptile world and attended all the big reptile shows on the west coast. Time was flying by and although it was a ton of work, we loved every minute of it. In 2010 we decided to put more of a focus on the chameleons so we started selling off the bearded dragons. I have kept my few favorites and the rest are now gone. They will always have a place in our hearts but we found a new animal we wanted to breed - the knob tail gecko! In 2009 we got into Australian knob tail geckos. We have several groups of both Wheeleri and Amyae. We also have a variety of other small geckos that fit into our geckos racks, making them simple to care for and a lot of fun. We really like the different aspect of these geckos because they are still somewhat uncommon. The geckos, along with the chameleons, now give us a chance to produce some amazing and unique pets!

Chad and I love our business and really feel the need to treat all of our animals like they are our own pets, because really, until they are sold, they are! I am able to work part-time and put a lot of time and dedication into the business, while Chad is a union electrician and helps me out in the afternoons and on weekends. We truly love being a small family-owned business because it allows us to keep a close eye on all of our animals and give them the attention they need and also work together closely on a day to day basis. We also strive to give great customer service because that is very important to us. Chad and I hope to be able to make this our full time job one day. We feel that even though owning your own business is a ton of work, it is a very rewarding experience. We’ve gotten to see what we built with our own hands grow into a great business and couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to do that. We’d like to say thank you to all of our customers and colleagues for the support you’ve given us which has gotten us where we are today. Since 2007 when we started this business, it has given us the opportunity to travel around the country and meet countless people. We look forward to the future to see what exciting adventures Tiki Tiki Reptiles brings us. If you are reading this, we hope that you have chosen/will choose to be a part of it with us!

Warm Regards,

Hey you guys! Just wanted to let you know he arrived safely today and I think I might name him Rambo, I'm not sure yet, hahaha. I have done tons of research and have gone through great pains to make his home as realistic as possible. I want to let you know I searched breeder after breeder and dealer after dealer, but when I found your page I knew that Tiki Tiki reptiles was the way to go! I think its awesome as a husband and wife, you persue your passions and intrigues. Both of you truly have something special and I hope one day I can be as fortunate. Thank you both Chad and Darci for making one of my visions come true! I will keep in touch and send updated photos.... Thanks again!
